Hello everyone, and welcome back to what promises to be a very special year at BSI — the 8th graders will be our first graduating class next June. Yesterday, they were our first graders, and tomorrow, they will be our high schoolers! The class of 2017.
We are up and running, and thrilled to have the students back in the building. It’s been quiet for too long, and we have missed those smiling faces. Many of the middle schoolers are now taller than some of the adults in the building.
Looking forward to seeing everyone next Thursday evening from 5-7 at Curriculum Night — more detailed information will follow in the coming days.
I am at my post if you need me.
Wanted to share a letter from Chancellor Farina regarding changes to the NYCDOE Disciplinary Code.
Enjoy the beautiful day!
My 22-year-old shared this link about chores with me today, and I couldn’t help but think of you all. I know I talked about this in last month’s PTO meeting, but this article puts it all into perspective.
We have been approved by the DOE for two additional staff development half days where the students will be dismissed at 11:30. (Wingspan after school will begin immediately upon dismissal.)
The two days are Monday, April 27th and Monday, May 18th.
As I mentioned in the PTO meeting this month, the PTO voted and approved a 3 full day PD schedule for this year but the DOE would only approved 2 full days and 2 half days, hence, the change in schedule.
It’s spring, right? So bundle up.
